The Arc de Triomphe is a monument in Paris that stands in the centre of the Place Charles de Gaulle, (also known as the Place de l'Étoile), at the western end of the Champs-Élysées. The triumphal arch honours those who fought for France, particularly during the Napoleonic Wars. On the inside and the top of the arc there are all of the names of generals and wars fought. Underneath is the tomb of the unknown soldier from World War I.
The Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile has a beautiful senic view from the top of the Arc where you can see for miles of the city tops of Paris. Take some time while your there at the Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile to watch the amazing circle of cars that all merge into the center of this monument. There are 13 or more streets that all merge into one big giant circle which goes around the Arc de Triomphe. It's amazing to see.
